Gigi has been able
to make of car competition a reason of life: races are a passion to
which it is very difficult to renounce for him.
In the rally contest, he is also known as the Italian Flying this
due to the famouse jump performed during the very difficult Neste
Rally Finland: 84 meters flight; a record that he share with the
four times World Champion, the finn Tommy Makinen. An exploit able
to melt the hearth of the North Europe icy rally fans people.
After fascinating competition with Fiat Punto S1600 by Trico Racing
in 2002 year, a season full of success in 2003 driving a Mitsubishi
Lancer VII by Ralliart Italy Team taking part to Italian Rally
Championship and some race in World Rally Championship, in 2004 Gigi
makes the big jump: Official Mitsubishi Motor Driver in World Rally
Championship.
As tester during the races and the tests Gigi has showed considerable
capability in his firsts contact with a WRC. 2005 can be consider as
his consecration year. Start with a programme of the some races, in
alternation with Gilles Panizzi on the second Mitsubishi seat, Gigi
from the Turkey at the end will take part at all events, prove to be
the truly rally rising star.
In 2006, almost at the
start of the season, the Mitsubishi Motors decides suddenly to
withdraw from the competitions. So Gigi stays without a car but,

Competizioni, Beta, Sabelt, Stilo, Xideco Sport, Acerbis and Lungo
Livigno, be able to make an alternative little program with the
Lancer WRC 05, before, and the Peugeot 307 WRC, after. The results
are again excellent like the 3rd place in Argentina and the 4th in
Sweden.
 And at the end of the season, on December, it arrive the second
victory in a row at the
Memorial Bettega, the Motorshow
